Marc is as busy as ever! An article about Kevin Smith’s new movie — a horror film by the title of Red State — has revealed that Marc has a role, although there’s no further information just yet such as character name, etc. The movie will first be released on March 5, 2011 in New York. Details are below.

Kevin Smith will distribute Red State himself. Smith told a packed crowd, following the premiere of the Red State at the Sundance Film Festival. According to Variety Smith said he will self-distribute the $4 million project and, get this, Smith’s producer Jonathan Gordon auctioned the film to Smith for just $20, giving Hollywood the proverbial middle-finger.

Red State, helmed and written by Smith, stars Melissa Leo, John Goodman, Michael Angarano, Kevin Pollack, Kyle Gallner, Marc Blucas and Stephen Root.

Apparently the event was supposed to be a “live auction” for buyers, but Smith told attendees at the Eccles in Park City that the horror/thriller would be self-distributed via his Smodcast Pictures, despite pic’s Gordon insisting before that wouldn’t be an option.

Smith told attendees that he would begin a month-long tour with Red State, starting by releasing the pic at Radio City Music Hall in New York on March 5.

The story is set in Middle America and follows a group of teenagers who receive an online invite for sex, but soon encounter fundamentalists who have a much more sinister agenda.
